NFPA 1001 FF1&2 – Different Routes To Obtain Your Certification

NFPA 1001 FF1 & 2 and NFPA 1072 Operations Level are typical certifications that are required by many Fire Services in Canada. There are exemptions.. such as, Calgary.

There are 4 different routes you can take to receive your certification

1. Join a volunteer/ part-time/ paid on call Fire Department that will send you to receive your NFPA 1001 FF1 & 2 and NFPA 1072 Operations Level – there may be 0 cost to you.

2. 3 – 6 month programs – Some examples are listed below

   1. College Of the Rockies – BC – courses in addition to FF1 & 2, such as, wild land and industrial firefighting-23 weeks cost is approx. 15000

   2. Lakeland College – Alberta – Emergency Training center – 12- 17 weeks – Approx. cost – 11000

   3. Emergency Services Academy  Alberta- 12 weeks – Approx. cost 15000

   4. Smart Fire – Manatoba – online (3-4 mos) in partnership with Training Division.com 2 week boot camp – Approx.. cost 6300
