π¨ Firefighter Duties
- Respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies
- Perform firefighting, suppression, ventilation, and rescue operations
- Participate in ongoing emergency training
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and readiness checks
- Support public education and fire prevention initiatives
- Complete reports using digital fire records systems
- Maintain station cleanliness and operational readiness
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and workplace safety
β Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- π Grade 12 diploma or GED
- π NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II Certification (IFSAC or Pro Board)
- βοΈ Valid FR or EMR licence (BC EMA or equivalent)
- π Valid Class 3 BC Driverβs Licence or equivalent
- π Clean driverβs abstract (minimum 3 years)
- πͺ Physical and medical fitness for firefighting duties
- π¨π¦ Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- π§― Minimum two years of relevant work experience
β Preferred Qualifications
- Wildland firefighting experience
- EMS, Coast Guard, military, police, or SAR background
- Additional NFPA certifications
- Trades certification or post-secondary education
- Volunteer and community involvement experience
