Probationary Firefighter

This position will be for a minimum of five (5) months. Starting June 23rd, 2025.
Annual Salary: $63,697 (As per the collective agreement 2024)

Reporting to the on-duty officer; the selected candidate will attend training sessions, respond to emergency calls, perform equipment and vehicles maintenance inspection, perform fire prevention and public education duties and attend meetings as requested by the Fire Chief or designate.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma
• NFPA 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications level 2 or the equivalency certification.
• NFPA 1002 Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications – Pump or the equivalency certification.
• ICS/IMS 100 is an asset.
• Possess a valid DZ License or the equivalency to be able to drive fire apparatus.
• Physically and medically fit for Firefighting job-related tasks
• First Aid and C.P.R. certification.
• Previous Firefighter experience.
• Bilingualism is a requirement (French and English)]
• The position requires the incumbent to submit a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as a condition of employment.

The candidate must be willing to complete the ICS/IMS 100 within the first week of employment.
