Position: Firefighter Paramedic (PCP or ACP) / Non-Fire Trained ACP
Location: Fort McMurray

Schedule: 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off
Hours: 84 hours bi-weekly

- $50.66 β $53.83/hr (PCP Firefighter Paramedic)
- $54.46 β $55.73/hr (ACP roles)
- $480 bi-weekly Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
- Full-time, permanent positions

π₯ Firefighter Paramedic Responsibilities
Emergency Response
- Respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies
- Deliver advanced life support and patient care
- Operate within structured emergency response systems
Firefighter Paramedic Duties
- Perform fire suppression, rescue, and hazard mitigation
- Support technical rescue and specialized response operations
EMS Operations
- Provide pre-hospital emergency care
- Utilize electronic patient care reporting systems (ePCR)
Station & Equipment Duties
- Maintain apparatus, ambulances, and firefighting equipment
- Conduct daily inspections and readiness checks
Public Safety & Prevention
- Participate in fire prevention and public education programs
- Support community engagement initiatives

This role involves:
- High call volumes and complex emergency incidents
- Working in extreme weather and hazardous conditions
- Physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and confined space work
- Maintaining composure in high-stress situations
β Minimum Qualifications
Firefighter Paramedic (PCP / ACP)
- NFPA 1001 Level I & II (required for firefighter roles)
- Registered Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) with the Alberta College of Paramedics
Non-Fire Trained ACP
- ACP certification required
- Fire training not required initially (training opportunities available)
Education & Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid CPR (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
Driverβs Licence
- Alberta Class 4 Licence with Q endorsement (required)
- Class 3 with Q endorsement (preferred)
Background Requirements
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
