Successful candidates will:

โœ… Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and hazardous materials incidents.

โœ… Provide emergency medical care within provincial and departmental protocols.

โœ… Operate fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue equipment, and emergency vehicles.

โœ… Ensure the safety and wellbeing of coworkers and the public.

โœ… Maintain emergency response equipment, facilities, and inventory.

โœ… Complete reports, documentation, and quality assurance activities.

โœ… Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

โœ… Support community education and fire prevention programs.


๐ŸŽ“ Required Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

โœ… Registered Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP/EMT-P)

OR

โœ… Currently enrolled in the final year of a recognized ACP program

โœ… Valid Alberta Class 3 or Class 4 Driver’s Licence with Q Endorsement

โœ… Ability to perform duties while wearing SCBA

โœ… Ability to safely work at heights and in emergency environments

โœ… Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office

โœ… Successful Criminal Record Check


โญ Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:

๐Ÿ… Minimum one year of emergency services experience

๐Ÿ… NFPA 1001 Level II Certification

๐Ÿ… NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator Certification

๐Ÿ… NFPA 1072 HAZMAT Operations Certification

๐Ÿ… NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue Operations Certification

๐Ÿ… Additional emergency services education or certifications

โฐ Work Schedule

FireMedics work an average of 42 hours per week on a rotating schedule that includes:

๐Ÿ•™ 10-Hour Shifts

๐Ÿ•› 12-Hour Shifts

๐Ÿ•‘ 14-Hour Shifts

New hires will complete a two-week training assignment working Monday through Friday.
