With over 100 years of service excellence, St. Albert Fire & EMS provides emergency medical response, fire suppression, rescue operations, and community safety services to residents in St. Albert and surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for licensed Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) and Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP) who are passionate about emergency services and community safety.

Firefighter / Medic Responsibilities

As a Firefighter/Medic, you will:

๐Ÿš’ Respond to fire suppression emergencies

๐Ÿš‘ Provide emergency medical care and patient treatment

๐Ÿ  Protect lives, property, and the community

๐Ÿงฏ Perform rescue operations in hazardous environments

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’ Work collaboratively as part of an emergency response team

๐Ÿ“‹ Maintain equipment, readiness, and professional standards

โšก Respond quickly and effectively to emergency incidents

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork


Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

โœ” Registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics as a:

  • Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
  • Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)

โœ” Successful completion of the University of Alberta Firefighter Fitness Test

โœ” Valid Alberta Class 4 Driver’s Licence

โœ” Ability to obtain Alberta Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake (Q) Endorsement before probation completion

โœ” Ability to meet NFPA 1582 medical standards

โœ” Strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills


Preferred Qualifications

โญ NFPA 1001 Level I Certification

โญ NFPA 1001 Level II Certification

โญ Previous Firefighter Experience

โญ Emergency Response Experience

โญ Rescue Operations Training

โญ Community Service Experience


Work Schedule

๐Ÿ•’ Two (2) 10-hour Day Shifts

๐ŸŒ™ Two (2) 14-hour Night Shifts

๐Ÿ– Four (4) Consecutive Days Off

This schedule provides excellent work-life balance while serving the community.
