The City of Regina Fire & Protective Services is now accepting internal and external applications for Permanent Firefighter positions within the Suppression & Rescue Division. As a City of Regina Firefighter, you will respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and public safety calls while delivering fire prevention education and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical response

  • Motor vehicle collision extrication and hazardous materials response

  • Fire prevention inspections and public fire safety education

  • Operation and maintenance of fire apparatus and equipment

  • Participation in ongoing training and certification programs

  • Emergency Communications Centre duties when assigned

Shift work including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays is required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Official Transcript

  • NFPA 1001 Level I & II (IFSAC or Pro Board)

  • Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) certification with valid Saskatchewan license

  • Valid driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement (Class 3A asset)

  • Current Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check

  • York Firefighter Fitness Assessment Certificate (or testing during recruitment)

  • Meet vision, hearing, and medical standards

Salary & Benefits

  • Hourly: $37.41 – $63.30 (2026 rates)

  • Annual: $78,117 – $138,258
