📍 Location: Dawson Creek, British Columbia
💰 Pay: $40.31 – $45.69/hour after probation
🕒 Schedule: Average 42 hours/week

The City of Dawson Creek is seeking motivated and highly skilled individuals pursuing a challenging and rewarding career in firefighting. Firefighters work in emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, public education, and community safety.

✅ Required Qualifications

✔ NFPA 1001 Firefighter II (IFSAC or Pro-Board)
✔ BC EMA First Responder, EMR, PCP or equivalent
✔ Valid BC Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Endorsement
✔ Grade 12 or equivalent
✔ Legal entitlement to work in Canada
✔ Ability to pass Police Information Check

🔥 NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Technician
🔥 NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue
🔥 NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator
🔥 ICS 100 Certification
🔥 Wildland Firefighter Level 1
🔥 Volunteer emergency services experience
🔥 Community involvement and teamwork skills

💪 Physical & Agility Testing

Candidates must complete:

• Stair climbs with weighted PPE
• Hose drags
• Rescue mannequin drags
• Ladder operations
• Confined space agility testing
• Aerial ladder climb

Testing is completed wearing approximately 50 lbs of firefighting PPE and SCBA equipment.
