🚨 What Calgary Firefighters Do

Calgary firefighters serve the community through:

🎯 Minimum Requirements

Before applying, candidates must:

✔ Be at least 18 years old

✔ Be legally entitled to work in Canada

✔ Hold a High School Diploma, CAEC, GED, or Journeyman Certificate

✔ Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent)

✔ Have no more than six demerit points

✔ Communicate effectively in English during stressful situations

✔ Meet NFPA 1580 medical standards

✔ Be a minimum of three years clear of criminal activity

✔ Advanced First Aid (AFA) Certification

✔ CPR-HCP or Basic Life Support (BLS)

✔ Alberta Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake (Q) Endorsement
