As an Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter, you’ll protect personnel, aircraft, infrastructure, and operations while responding to aircraft emergencies, fire incidents, hazardous material spills, and rescue situations.

About the Role
The Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) is responsible for protecting military aviation operations at 15 Wing Moose Jaw.
Firefighters provide emergency response coverage for:
âī¸ CT-156 Harvard II Aircraft
âī¸ CT-114 Tutor Aircraft
âī¸ Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Team
đ Aircraft crash rescue operations
âŖī¸ Hazardous materials spill response
đĸ Building inspections and fire prevention
đĨ Emergency response and fire suppression
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response
đ Respond to aircraft emergencies and fire incidents
đŠī¸ Conduct aircraft crash rescue operations
âŖī¸ Support hazardous materials emergency response
đ Provide emergency assistance during aviation incidents
Fire Prevention & Inspection
đĸ Conduct fire inspections across the military base
đ Complete inspection reports and documentation
đ§¯ Maintain portable fire extinguisher programs
đ Perform fire safety audits and compliance inspections
Equipment & Training
đ Inspect and maintain ARFF vehicles and equipment
đ ī¸ Perform testing and maintenance of firefighting systems
đ Maintain training and incident records
đĒ Participate in daily fitness and readiness training
đĨ Attend annual live-fire ARFF recertification training
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
â NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level II (Pro Board or IFSAC)
â NFPA 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator (Pro Board or IFSAC)
â NFPA 1003 Airport Fire Fighter Certification (Pro Board or IFSAC)
â Standard First Aid Certification
â CPR Level C Certification
â Valid Class 5A Driver’s Licence
â Strong communication and leadership skills
â Ability to pass a Physical Abilities Test
â Ability to obtain Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
â NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level I
â NFPA 10 Portable Fire Extinguisher Certification
â Hazardous Materials Response Experience
â Airport Firefighter Experience
â Military Fire Service Experience
â Fire Prevention Experience
â Strong Computer Skills
Training Provided
Successful candidates may receive additional training including:

đ Lockout/Tagout Training
đ SCBA Training
đ Respirator Fit Testing
đ Radio Communications Training
đ Ramp Safety Training
đ Portable Fire Extinguisher Training
Work Schedule
đ Current Schedule:
â 7 Days On
â 7 Days Off
â 12-Hour Shifts
â Sunday 8-Hour Shift
Schedule may change based on operational requirements.
