🔥 Firefighter Responsibilities

As a Firefighter with Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, you will:

🚒 Respond to structure fires and emergency incidents

🚑 Provide emergency medical care, CPR, AED, and first aid

🚗 Respond to motor vehicle collisions and rescues

☣️ Respond to hazardous materials emergencies

🏢 Enter burning or contaminated structures to rescue occupants

🚒 Operate and drive fire apparatus

🧯 Perform fire suppression, overhaul, and salvage operations

🏫 Participate in fire prevention inspections and public education

🧹 Maintain fire stations, apparatus, and firefighting equipment

📚 Attend ongoing firefighter training and skills development

⚖️ Attend court proceedings and participate in community events

✅ Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

✔ Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent

✔ Valid Ontario Class D Driver’s Licence with Z Endorsement

✔ Current Standard First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS)

✔ Successful completion of:

• Job Related Agility Test
• Firefighter Aptitude Test
• Physical Ability Test
• Swim Test

✔ Ability to successfully complete an NFPA 1582 medical examination

✔ Ability to perform physically demanding work under hazardous conditions
