As a Firefighter with Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, you will:

๐Ÿš’ Respond to structure fires and emergency incidents

๐Ÿš‘ Provide emergency medical care, CPR, AED, and first aid

๐Ÿš— Respond to motor vehicle collisions and rescues

โ˜ฃ๏ธ Respond to hazardous materials emergencies

๐Ÿข Enter burning or contaminated structures to rescue occupants

๐Ÿš’ Operate and drive fire apparatus

๐Ÿงฏ Perform fire suppression, overhaul, and salvage operations

๐Ÿซ Participate in fire prevention inspections and public education

๐Ÿงน Maintain fire stations, apparatus, and firefighting equipment

๐Ÿ“š Attend ongoing firefighter training and skills development

โš–๏ธ Attend court proceedings and participate in community events


โœ… Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

โœ” Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent

โœ” Valid Ontario Class D Driver’s Licence with Z Endorsement

โœ” Current Standard First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS)

โœ” Successful completion of:

  • Job Related Agility Test
  • Firefighter Aptitude Test
  • Physical Ability Test
  • Swim Test

โœ” Ability to successfully complete an NFPA 1582 medical examination

โœ” Ability to perform physically demanding work under hazardous conditions


โญ Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are considered assets:

โญ NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I & II

โญ Firefighter education

โญ College or University education

โญ Skilled trades experience

โญ Construction industry experience

โญ Emergency medical experience
