👨‍🚒 Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

✅ Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and hazardous materials incidents.

✅ Provide emergency medical care within provincial and departmental protocols.

✅ Operate fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue equipment, and emergency vehicles.

✅ Ensure the safety and wellbeing of coworkers and the public.

✅ Maintain emergency response equipment, facilities, and inventory.

✅ Complete reports, documentation, and quality assurance activities.

🎓 Required Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

✅ Registered Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP/EMT-P)

OR

✅ Currently enrolled in the final year of a recognized ACP program

✅ Valid Alberta Class 3 or Class 4 Driver’s Licence with Q Endorsement

✅ Ability to perform duties while wearing SCBA

✅ Ability to safely work at heights and in emergency environments

✅ Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office

✅ Successful Criminal Record Check

Preference may be given to candidates with:

🏅 Minimum one year of emergency services experience

🏅 NFPA 1001 Level II Certification

🏅 NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator Certification

🏅 NFPA 1072 HAZMAT Operations Certification

🏅 NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue Operations Certification

🏅 Additional emergency services education or certifications

⏰ Work Schedule

FireMedics work an average of 42 hours per week on a rotating schedule that includes:

🕙 10-Hour Shifts

🕛 12-Hour Shifts

🕑 14-Hour Shifts

New hires will complete a two-week training assignment working Monday through Friday.
