๐ About the FireMedic Position
As a FireMedic, you will work in a dynamic team environment providing emergency response services including:

๐จโ๐ Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
โ Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and hazardous materials incidents.
โ Provide emergency medical care within provincial and departmental protocols.
โ Operate fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue equipment, and emergency vehicles.
โ Ensure the safety and wellbeing of coworkers and the public.
โ Maintain emergency response equipment, facilities, and inventory.
โ Complete reports, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
โ Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
โ Support community education and fire prevention programs.
๐ Required Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
โ Registered Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP/EMT-P)
OR
โ Currently enrolled in the final year of a recognized ACP program
โ Valid Alberta Class 3 or Class 4 Driver’s Licence with Q Endorsement
โ Ability to perform duties while wearing SCBA
โ Ability to safely work at heights and in emergency environments
โ Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
โ Successful Criminal Record Check
โญ Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:
๐ Minimum one year of emergency services experience
๐ NFPA 1001 Level II Certification
๐ NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator Certification
๐ NFPA 1072 HAZMAT Operations Certification
๐ NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue Operations Certification
๐ Additional emergency services education or certifications

โฐ Work Schedule
FireMedics work an average of 42 hours per week on a rotating schedule that includes:
๐ 10-Hour Shifts
๐ 12-Hour Shifts
๐ 14-Hour Shifts
New hires will complete a two-week training assignment working Monday through Friday.
