The City of Stratford is seeking motivated and community-focused individuals for a full-time firefighter career opportunity. Firefighters perform emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, medical response, public education, and fire prevention duties.

🚒 Key Responsibilities

🔥 Respond to fire alarms and emergency calls
🚑 Provide emergency medical care and rescue operations
🪜 Perform ventilation, salvage, overhaul, and extrication work
🚒 Drive and operate fire apparatus and related equipment
🏢 Conduct fire inspections and pre-fire planning
📻 Assist with dispatch communications and alarm monitoring
👨‍🏫 Participate in public education, station tours, and community programs
🧯 Participate in ongoing training and firefighter development

✅ Required Qualifications

✔ Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
✔ Valid Entry Level Firefighter CPS Test Results
✔ Valid Ontario DZ Driver’s License
✔ Valid Physical Fitness Assessment Test Results
✔ Current First Aid / CPR Certification
✔ Valid OFAI Stage 1 & 2 Certificates

⭐ Additional Requirements

🔥 Must successfully complete OFAI Stage 3 and Swim Test within 4 months of hire
🕒 Must be available for shift work
