🚨 Firefighter Responsibilities

As an OPG Emergency Response Maintainer, you will:

✅ Respond to industrial fire emergencies and hazardous materials incidents
✅ Provide rescue and emergency medical response services
✅ Inspect, test, maintain, and operate firefighting and HazMat equipment
✅ Operate SCBA and emergency response apparatus
✅ Support health and safety operations across generating facilities
✅ Process hot work permits and fire safety documentation
✅ Act as a technical resource on emergency response issues
✅ Participate in emergency preparedness and incident mitigation

✅ Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• High School Diploma
• NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter I & II Certification
• NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Operations Certification
• Valid Ontario DZ Driver’s Licence
• Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
• Valid York Firefighter Fitness Test OR OFAI Stage 1, 2 & 3
• Ability to pass OPG Firefighter Medical Assessment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred candidates may also have:

• 3+ years of emergency response experience
• Industrial or nuclear emergency response background
• HazMat response experience
• SCBA operational experience
• Fire prevention and inspection knowledge
• Procedure writing and technical documentation experience
