The Township of Langley Fire Division is now hiring up to four (4) Regular Full-Time Firefighters for 2026, with additional qualified candidates placed on an eligibility list.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of British Columbia’s growing fire services, working alongside career and paid-call firefighters in emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, public education, inspections, and community safety initiatives.

- Salary: $41.15 – $62.31 per hour + benefits
- Schedule: Hours as per Collective Agreement
- External Closing Date: May 13, 2026
🚨 Firefighter Responsibilities
As a Township of Langley Firefighter, you will:
✅ Respond to fires, rescues, medical emergencies, and public assistance calls
✅ Perform firefighting, suppression, ventilation, search and rescue operations
✅ Operate fire apparatus, tools, and emergency equipment
✅ Participate in training, station maintenance, inspections, and drills
✅ Deliver public fire and life safety education programs
✅ Work under challenging and high-pressure emergency conditions
✅ Support community safety through teamwork and professionalism
✅ Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Minimum 19 years of age
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada
- Grade 12 diploma, GED, or equivalent
- NFPA 1001 Level II Certification with IFSAC/ProBoard seals
- NFPA 470/472 or NFPA 1072 Operations Certification
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification
- Valid BC Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Current Personal Driving Record (5-year history)
- Firefighter Fitness Test completed between June 8, 2025 and June 8, 2026
- Ability to meet NFPA 1582 medical standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
⭐ Preferred Qualifications & Assets
Additional assets include:
- Auto extrication training
- Rope rescue certification
- Confined space rescue training
- Hazardous materials response training
- Incident Command System (ICS) courses
- Public education experience
- Knowledge of fire codes and standards
- Related trades or mechanical experience
