This is an exciting opportunity to join one of British Columbia’s growing fire services, working alongside career and paid-call firefighters in emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, public education, inspections, and community safety initiatives.

• Salary: $41.15 – $62.31 per hour + benefits
• Schedule: Hours as per Collective Agreement

🚨 Firefighter Responsibilities

As a Township of Langley Firefighter, you will:

✅ Respond to fires, rescues, medical emergencies, and public assistance calls
✅ Perform firefighting, suppression, ventilation, search and rescue operations
✅ Operate fire apparatus, tools, and emergency equipment
✅ Participate in training, station maintenance, inspections, and drills
✅ Deliver public fire and life safety education programs
✅ Work under challenging and high-pressure emergency conditions
✅ Support community safety through teamwork and professionalism

✅ Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• Minimum 19 years of age
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada
• Grade 12 diploma, GED, or equivalent
• NFPA 1001 Level II Certification with IFSAC/ProBoard seals
• NFPA 470/472 or NFPA 1072 Operations Certification
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification
• Valid BC Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Current Personal Driving Record (5-year history)
• Firefighter Fitness Test completed between June 8, 2025 and June 8, 2026
• Ability to meet NFPA 1582 medical standards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

⭐ Preferred Qualifications & Assets

Additional assets include:

• Auto extrication training
• Rope rescue certification
• Confined space rescue training
• Hazardous materials response training
• Incident Command System (ICS) courses
• Public education experience
• Knowledge of fire codes and standards
• Related trades or mechanical experience
