The City of Penticton Fire Services is seeking highly skilled, physically fit, and community-focused individuals to join our team of professional Career Firefighters.

Fire Services supports a safe community by responding to emergencies, minimizing injury and property loss, conducting fire prevention inspections, and delivering public education programs.

This role involves 24-hour shifts, day and night rotations, and schedule flexibility in accordance with the department’s Flex Firefighter Policy.

βœ… Required Qualifications

βœ” Secondary School Graduation
βœ” NFPA 1001 Levels I & II (IFSAC or PROBOARD, including HazMat)
βœ” NFPA 1582 medical, hearing & vision standards
βœ” Valid BC Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
βœ” Current BC EMA Licensing Board First Responder (or EMR, PCP, ACP)
βœ” 5-year Driver’s Abstract (within 15 days of application)
βœ” Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
βœ” Exceptional swimming ability
βœ” Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
βœ” Ability to reside within the Fire Protection Area or adjacent municipality
βœ” Commitment to maintaining physical fitness
