Compensation & Benefits

💰 Hourly Rate: $37.63/hour

💵 Annual Retention Allowance: $11,000
-
🧭 Bi-weekly Remoteness Allowance

📈 Annual Salary Range: $82,183.92 – $117,084.24

🤝 Unionized position – IAFF Local 2200

⏱ Overtime, shift premiums & benefits per Collective Agreement
🔥 Firefighter/PCPs are hired as Probationary employees and may progress to First-Class Firefighter/PCP within 24 months, subject to performance and training completion.
Firefighter / PCP Responsibilities
As part of this Firefighter Paramedic job in Manitoba, you will:

Respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies at the PCP level
-
Provide pre-hospital emergency medical care within scope of practice
-
Assist with wildfire prevention, mitigation, and suppression
-
Operate and maintain firefighting and ambulance apparatus
-
Complete reports, documentation, and administrative duties
-
Participate in ongoing training and certification maintenance
-
Support public education and life safety initiatives
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
-
Post-secondary education or certification in a related field
-
Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) License with COPR certification
-
NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I & II
-
Valid Manitoba Class IV driver’s license with air brake endorsement

Ability to obtain:

Vulnerable Sector Check
-
Child & Adult Abuse Registry Checks
-

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to meet vision, hearing, medical, and fitness standards

Availability for shift work (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
Preferred Assets
-
NFPA 1031 & NFPA 1035
-
Wildland firefighting experience
-
Experience in fire, EMS, or technical rescue environments
