Key Responsibilities – Firefighter Jobs Beaumont Alberta

As a Probationary 4th Class Firefighter, you will:

Emergency Response

  • Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, MVCs, and medical first response calls

  • Participate in post-incident debriefings and equipment readiness checks

  • Operate in accordance with departmental policies and safety protocols

Operational Readiness

  • Inspect, clean, and maintain firefighting apparatus and equipment

  • Maintain station facilities and surrounding grounds

  • Ensure readiness for emergency response at all times

Training & Development

  • Support training and development of Volunteer Firefighters

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of Beaumont’s streets, infrastructure, hazards, and water supply

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and safety meetings

Professional Conduct

  • Comply with all legislative, safety, and respectful workplace requirements

  • Report unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents

  • Foster a positive, professional, and safety-focused work culture


Required Qualifications

Applicants for firefighter jobs in Beaumont, Alberta must have:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada (Citizen or Permanent Resident)

  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter Levels I & II (IFSAC and/or Pro Board)

  • NFPA 1002 Driver & Pumper Operator

  • NFPA 1072 / 470 Awareness & Operations

  • Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with Q endorsement and clean abstract

  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED or higher

  • Minimum 3 years of continuous, active fire service experience


Assets (Strongly Considered)

  • NFPA 1002 Aerial Operations

  • Blue Card Incident Command

  • ICS 100

  • Basic Emergency Management (BEM)

  • Current member of Beaumont Volunteer Fire Services
