This is a full-time, onsite position located at Fire Station 1 and the Headquarters Administration Building. Position Overview: Probationary Firefighter
As a Burlington Probationary Firefighter, you will join a skilled team of emergency professionals committed to protecting the community. Firefighters respond to a wide range of emergencies, including:

Structural and vehicle fires
-
Motor vehicle collisions
-
Medical emergencies
-
Hazardous materials incidents
-
Rope, surface water, and ice water rescues
Firefighters also contribute to public education, fire prevention initiatives, and the maintenance of stations, equipment, and apparatus. Ongoing training and physical fitness are essential components of this role.
Mandatory Qualifications
To apply, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

Legally eligible to work in Canada

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Ability to provide a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening (required upon conditional offer)
-
Valid Ontario Class DZ driver’s licence with acceptable abstract (no more than 3 driving-related convictions or 3 demerit points in the past 3 years)

Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification

NFPA 1001 Level I & II completed
-
Successful completion of all seven components of the Firefighter Services of Ontario (FSO) Screening Test
