So I’ve applied to Toronto 4 times now. On my online portal, it says “Screening” for all the previous job postings. But this time, it says “Screening In Progress”
Is that better then “Screening” or is it basically the same thing?

I am unsure what the difference is. I just sent an email asking that question when they reply to me I will post it here.

Unfortunately I still have not heard back.. Unless they changed their program I would think that if you haven’t heard back from the last 4 times and it never said screening in progress, It may mean this time is different – fingers crossed.. please update us when you find out.

I work for the city, I don’t have a legitimate answer but I know it says screening for every job and screening in progress if you’re actively been screened. It was the same when I got my job with the city.

It will once they start screening the applications, I don’t think they’ve sent invites out though.

Does any one have any updates on interview invites?

They sent out requests for swim test certificates already which leads me to believe those are the ones that are being interviewed.

    Hey everyone,

For people applying to the current 2024 recruitment for Toronto. The job posting asks for NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level 1 and 2 but when filling out the job application questionnaire online it says that Firefighter Level 1 and 2 + Hazmat Operations is required. Should the Operations certificate be submitted with the (NFPA) portion of the supporting documents?
